The victim needs to stay in place, as movements may cause the ice floe to break.<\/li>\n<li>If the ice floe is close enough, try throwing a tree branch, pole, or, if available, a rope, towards the victim.<\/li>\n<li>If the victim manages to get ahold of the object, pull him carefully towards the shore.<\/li>\n<li>Do not try swimming to the ice floe \u2013 cold water cools down your body quickly, and you risk drowning and hypothermia.<\/li>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you notice someone on an ice floe, call the Emergency Service by dialing 112.
